What’s On This October and November
The weather’s warming up, and Ballarat is starting to defrost. Markets, shows, food, music, family days out, it’s all happening, and it’s all just minutes from Floriana.
If you’re not already local, these events are a great excuse to spend some time here and see what life in this part of Victoria is really like. And if you are local, well, why not make a day of it and swing past Floriana while you’re out and about?
Here are three events worth checking out over the next couple of months.
Halloween at Kryal Castle

Ballarat does Halloween a little differently thanks to Kryal Castle. They go all out with themed nights and family events.
For the kids, there’s Trick or Treat at the Castle on the 19th and 20th of October. Expect scavenger hunts, face painting, potion-making and the spooky parade. It’s a proper family day out.
If you’re after something more grown-up, there’s the Halloween Fantasy Ball on 1 November. Think fire shows, circus acts, tarot readings and dancing in a castle after dark. There’s also a Murder Mystery Night earlier in October if that’s more your style.
It’s quirky, it’s fun, and it’s the sort of thing you’ll be excited to have nearby once you’re living at Floriana.
The Ballarat Show

From 7 – 9 November, the Ballarat Show is back at the Mount Rowan showgrounds. It’s got all the things you’d expect: rides, animals, live entertainment, food trucks, fashion parades and exhibitions.
It’s an event that feels a bit old-school in the best kind of way. Something families look forward to every year, but also just as fun if you’re there for the atmosphere, the food, or to check out what’s on display.
In future years, living close by at Floriana will mean you don’t have to worry about making it a big trip. It’s a quick drive, so you can pop in after work on Friday, spend a Saturday afternoon there, or even visit more than once.
Ballarat SpringFest

SpringFest is one of Ballarat’s biggest community celebrations, organised by the Rotary Club of Ballarat. It’s been running for almost 30 years, and this year also marks Rotary’s 100th year in the city, so expect a bit of extra buzz.
It starts in October with the Harness Racing Night at Bray Raceway, with dinner, racing, and a good social atmosphere. Then, on 30 November, the Gardens Precinct at Lake Wendouree fills with more than 450 stalls for Market Sunday. There’s food, music, kids’ activities, and plenty of local makers. Alongside it is the Show n Glow car display, where hot rods and classics line up for the crowd.
The Good Life is Right Here at Floriana
This spring, Ballarat has plenty going on. If you’re curious about what life at Floriana might feel like, come along to one of these events. While you’re at it, take a drive through the estate, see the wetlands, and picture what your future could look like here.
